One of the top questions I get asked is "How did you get into this?".
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a stunt driver and ultimately retire from the game to run my own stunt driving school. I started learning to drift at the age of 18 and took some rally lessons in order to get my international license. I quickly established that, with zero sponsorship or financial support, getting my international license without a competition car whilst trying to study for university was a tall order. I gave up the dream, and did some driver training experience for fun alongside university. In my final year at university I went to Miami to buy a car - a Chevrolet Camaro SS.
I finished my Masters in Motorsport Engineering and went into the automotive industry working at UTAC Millbrook Proving Ground. In my time at Millbrook I worked as an engineer at one time or another in every department. This gave me invaluable experience in Vehicle Dynamics and track testing, culminating in my job on Track Control in 2018. There, I met a number of driver trainers who accelerated my journey into the driver training world.
Within two years, I qualified as a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor and Fleet Instructor and managed to get a contract with Mercedes-Benz World in Brooklands. Fast forward to 2023, and I have contracts teaching advanced driving courses for Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone alongside my work at Mercedes-Benz World. I'm continuously developing my skills to enable me to offer higher quality courses. My current qualifications include:
DVSA Approved Driving Instructor
DVSA Fleet Instructor
BTEC Level 4 Coaching for Driver Development
AMG Driving Specialist
Porsche Driving Consultant
UTAC Millbrook Proving Ground Permit Holder
I offer a variety of advanced driving courses which can be tailored to your needs. My passion for anything with wheels, teamed with my technical understanding means that I can also create a bespoke course based around your requirements. Please get in touch for more details!
